Pumpkin Seasoning is also known as pumpkin pie spice, and, as its name would suggest, it is used in the making of pumpkin pie. This spice is generally used in American cuisine, but not always, as it can be used with other recipes.
This seasoning has an aromatic aroma, and is normally a blend of these aromatic spices - ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg and ground cloves. In some recipes for this seasoning ‘all spice’ is used as another ingredient.
This aromatic seasoning is available online. There are several brands to choose from. Each brand will have a slightly different flavour, so try until you find the one you like the most. Alternatively, you can try making your own pumpkin pie spice at home. Again there are several recipes to choose from.
Cooking with these aromatic spices is not just for the use of making pumpkin pies as the name would suggest. It is also delicious when used in the making of custard, giving a delicious and different twist to the flavour. You can also use these blends of spices to give you a cup of coffee with a different but again delicious flavour. It is also great to use when baking and when making muffins.
We like to cook delicious pumpkin seasoned muffins at home as they are easy to make, and the kids can join in the fun making these tasty treats.
